This Festive Cocktail – The Method
WHere is a home-style take on a beverage found on a new drinks list. Designed as a large-volume prepared mix that's packed with flavours of the festive period, making it perfect for a festive gathering. Save the extra cordial to use in breakfast cocktails, puddings, or to mix additional servings of this cocktail.
Bikini Recipe
Serves 10 servings
To make the Citrus Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g caster sugar
To make the Drink (yields 850ml, to serve 10)
400ml premium vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Instructions
For the Cordial: Place every items into a pan, bring to a light boil, agitating so the sugar melts. Next, turn off the heat and leave to cool down entirely. Decant into a clean bottle, close it and refrigerate it in the refrigerator, where it will keep for up to one month.
To make Batch Mix: Combine every spirits and syrup in a large bottle, let it rest for one hour, then strain , ideally through muslin, so it's perfectly clear.
For serving: Add 85ml from the cocktail base into your stirring glass containing ice, and stir gently for about 60 seconds until cold. Filter into an chilled martini glass or equivalent, garnish with a few cranberries and finish with a light spray of the essential oil over the top.
